I've got a nokia n70. Bought it from ebay brand new the other day (still in sealed box) £230 that's not bad for a sim free phone. (I'm on pay as you go).
Sadly due to my orange sim card, I had to get a orange n70, but it seems like A ) they've removed some things and B ) added a crappy home bar thing to the front screen.
Do you guys have options to change brightness and stuff in the bit with white balance and scene for images? Because my orange one doesn't
Also I'm disapointed with the quality my phone has been taking, have I not got it setup correctly?
For example, here's a picture I found on some review site demonstrating the quality.
http://www.mobile-review.com/review/image/nokia/n70-camera/camera/14052005(05).jpg
http://www.mobile-review.com/review/image/nokia/n70-camera/camera/27052005(03).jpg
Now here's a picture I took with the back camera on my n70 - settings on print quality and auto scene...
http://www.corsasport.co.uk/carimages/669/05122005019.jpg
note - this pic was the same size as theirs but was scaled down for CS garage (though this making the size smaller should increase quality by squeezing the pixels together)
however all my pictures come out like that, quite low quality and grainy. What's wrong?
Also my Video in Mp4 (quicktime) high resolution, it films very slowly... like at a stupidly low frame per second that any sudden movements look stupid.
Once again, is this the same with yours?
I've downloaded some S60 games off a site called http://www.mastmobile.com (pretty good) - but they don't seem to work properly on my phone, once again should work on the n70?
What the hell is going on with mine? It was honestly a brand new, sealed phone, never opened, still with everything in packets etc.
I've ordered a 1gb Kingston Memory card so I hope I sort this soon.

Taking photos outdoor with good light makes a big difference!
Could you not have got a generic phone and had it unlocked rather than having the orange firmware. You could get rid of that if you had it flashed (new firmware replacing the factory one!)

I heard these phone's can't be unlocked yet.
I'm tempted to get it flashed. but what would it do just remove the home screen crap?

It'd restore it to completely non-Orange, and you might get a newer version of the firmware. Newer firmware on my K750i made a nice difference to things like photos at nighttime.

The reason they put that on there, is nokias symbian stuff is not exactly reliable. So it gets tested and tested untill they make one with stable software That orange home screen thing is kinda usefull? I didnt like it on my p910 but wouldnt wanna be without it now!
In short, buy a sony ericson

Just got my 1gb kingston memory card
Full movies are only 128mb, this phone plays music pretty good as well (without head phones) so will fill it up with some of that.
Though I wish I could make the mp4 video camera record video slightly quicker (few more fps)
