well i'm shocked a site we have to pay to put images on somthing as simple as an avatar or in the garage

avatars take diskspace and bandwidth and the site needs to be funded somehow.
Also remember that the more disk space and bandwidth that is used, more will have to be added etc.
Money doesnt grow on trees.

Also, you don't just pay "put images on somthing as simple as an avatar or in the garage"
you pay for various reasons;
- support the site
- the garage
- PL
- Motor Insurance discounts
- Other product discounts (Premium Traders)
- Email address (with WebMail)

i guess in the profile field or in the garage somewhere..
never seen the prem-level settings..
maybe u can mark pictures in your garage to use as avatar?
