tbh id rather fit no power steering to a car with power steering

not too difficult mate, but not worth the hassle really. ive re-fitted a few ps steering systems and its ok if the engine is out.

wont be too bad then. just find a car in the scrappy thats still got the whole system on

(and try and get a engine mount and power steering pump.)

just a thought mate, why not just buy a gsi in good condition? ive seen a few recently going for very little money.

Yes!

I did it to my LET, but did it wothout a pully, so no power losses

However I would not attempt the conversion unless your very very handy.

could fit the ekectric one to the colum then wouldnt have to have the engine out. dunno how good it is like

if anything you dont want a belt driven pas system as tim says, power losses

I think depends what your using the car for, quikrak was originally designed by GM for use on the astra mk2 rally car, and thus ideal for rallying or track days as it provides less turns the wheel however PAS would probably more advisable for an everyday car as it is lighter and will be easier on parking etc

Quick rack, I've considered one as well as the power steering. But I think they take a bit of getting used to on the road...
