Just been thinking lately that i want turbo power so next winter i might sell the v6 and get a LET, however, only thing that keeps putting me off is the thought of rebuild costs and unreliability!
Any thoughts? Muppetsport, your thoughts would be good! You never know, i might buy yours off you next year if you sell!

no v6 isnt fast enough. Im putting the 3ltr in in July (using the Elite engine, so will be about 220bhp with 220lb/ft!!!
That would be quicker than a standard LET, but without the fun of a turbo, and i want an intorcooler! lmao.
We'll see, ill get the 3;tr in and see how that is, Fozz has got a 3ltr at the min and omg its silly quick. feels so much faster than a turbo becuase theres no lag!
Did think about turboingthe v6, but ive been told that trying to find management for it can cost around £4000!

Well my LET has best part of 200k on it. I'd class it as a very reliable car! Al ot of those miles have been with way more boost than standard rammed through it

Its ok putting a V6 in, but your never going to get the power of a LET as cheap....

LET is is going to be much cheaper for when you want more power. if your aiming for big bhp then the let is really your only choice, but a 3.0ltr with a lightend flywheel, new cams and some headwork should be fun

timrud - ive already got the 2.5 in! I can put the 3ltr in myself, its just bigger cams and 3ltr bottom end! That will be 220bhp, more than a standard let, but then i see your point - where do you go from there?!
PIE CJ - yes it can, fozzy at powercrazy has already built a 3.2 MV6 corsa.

Already got a lightened fly and a decat, think ill stick withe the 3ltr idea because the v6's are a different choice and a re so much fun.
However, if i get a good offer for mine next year then ill consider selling.
Wuldnt mind a corsa Merit, with an intercooler hanging out the front end!

Yeah after 220bhp, it would have to be TB's, or a turbo!
300 is easy on a LET, and that is plenty!

i bet! do you lose reliabilty though? the v6's are so reliable, and ive always heard bad things about the LET's.

Engine is fantastic.
People need to remember tey need to change everything else on the car too! Esp. drivetrain/suspention related!
I'd reccomend one all day long.

Stick with the V6, there's no need for more BHP, it's driveability that you want and if you have a powerful reliable car with the V6 in, i wouldn't change it.
You could also supercharge the V6 lump..

I wanted a LET in my corsa, but got other plans for the future. I'll prob just buy a car that comes with a half decent engine in as standard.
I'm past fecking about wiv cars in the cold!

if i could choose to start again id do a tuned xe on tb's or a 1600 16v on tb's as its better alround car.
people need to se beyond the 'its got a load of power' thinking and realise it only has power in a straight line which is really pointless
