Right im a bit stuck on what to get next performance wise, got about £200 ish to spend....

looking at either:

Janspeed 4-2-1 Manifold
Autosprint 4-1 Manifold
Dblias Flowtech forced induction - http://www.regal-shop.co.uk/asps/ShowDetails.asp?id=5285

Current spec is full system with de-cat, drilled airbox with pipercross panel filter and Dblias Inlet...

Not really sure which of the above i would benefit from the most so any help is appriciated

4-2-1 is the way to go. 4-1 will lose you mid range torque

Get a set of 1.6 cams and get them re profiled lot cheaper. Or buy a second hand head and just take it in to be ported and flowed and get them to fit the cams in then just fit it all in an afternoon so your cars not off the road at any point?

Seriously these cams will make a lot of difference in the way the car drives and picks up

Ok cool ill have a think about it, my mate reckons it had new cams when it was rebuilt cause there are little circles on it if that makes sense and on his x16xe its all smooth.

I thought the inlet manifold was the restricting factor on x16s? I suggest a 4-2-1 rob, and saved up and get some head work done.

4-1 will rob a bit of mid range torque - but shift it higher up the rpm range...

so you'd make more power but at 7500+ (stupid rpm) too peaky too.

4-2-1 however, will improve mid range and still give reasonable gains at top end power.

I'm getting a 4-2-1 for mine next

rob - going back to the top of your threas reagarding the Dblias Flowtech forced induction.

obvioulsy this is proven stuff that will work its full potential with all the other dblias parts. But will this improve the cars performance on its own?

for a 1.6 sport btw

a 4-2-1 manifold only gained 2 bhp on mine. its a bit poinltess without headwork in my opinion. the ports on the x16xe are very narrow at the throats, this is where your biggest 'mechanical' restriction is at the moment. sbd even claim that the standard manifold is quite good. dont expect to fit it and notice a difference.

personally i would spend the money on a re-map. you will actually 'feel' a difference in the car and it will be running a lot better. also you would have the benefits of a raised rev limit so you can make the most out of the dbilas. it will also run a lot more economicaly.

have you got arp rod bolts or sbd rollers yet?
