realistically if i just bought a car and on the way from collecting it and driving home, say i got stopped by the police, what would happen ? i would be uninsured..... so the punishment would be the same wouldnt it ? or would they have some leaniency (sp) there ??? cheers

as lee said why would you be uninsured ?? surely you use your brain like the rest of us and ring your insurance company to change car before you drive off

the car should be insured under your name for that reg plate
the tax should still be valid, along with the mot

and the v5 you will have the green slip in your hand to proove you just bought it

so you should have no problems

hang on, when i bought my new car i had to bring my insurance certificate to the garage to prove i was insured on the car before they let me drive it away....

no cover note they will fuck you well bad cover notes are easy and simple if not find a mate who works in garage etc whos insured for any car and get them to drive it back then its easy they could be working on it

If this is the case then he should insure it. and drive stright to an pre arranged MOT test. and then tax his car.
