Basically my brothers girlfriend is always getting her knockers out over the web cam so I want to do a bit of spying and see what he is seeing
Is there a way I can see the screen of another computer over my home network?
I've seen the IT boffins in work do this with windows 200 server software but I only have XP at home
Help is welcomed and I could share the results with CS!

you would need to install some software like netop. Remote desktop comes with XP but just allows an extra connection to the PC rather than actually seeing what your brother is seeing

But thinking about it, netop asks the user if its ok to let you see the desktop so your brother could just say no
I cant think of the name of the other piece of software that does it

Netop and pc anywhere are two I know of.
I think you can disable the choice to say no when it's installed. Although you may be able to tell when someones connected if you know where to look.

Ultra VNC
Ive used it for a very similar reason on a wireless network
Search in google for it and when you install it make sure that you select the view only setting so that you cant move his mouse or anything and he wont know. Also when you install it on his, make sure you selct the option that doesnt show it in the staus bar.

Dameware is good, can install the service remotely and doesn't request access from the remote user

I need something like this for work, we have classrooms with 17-20 computers in and one wired up to the data projector, would be nice to get any one of the student machines displayed on the big screen or even split it up or something so I can display two/four student desktops on the wall.

At my old school they used a program called visionclient and the teacher could watch what we were doing, and if we were playing games etc he could shut down are pc's or log us off

Yeah we have something like that here just called 'What are you doing?'
Problem is the projector computer is just a normal student machine so we couldn't really have anything that powerful on it in case a student decided to log off his mate for a laugh.

Yeah could do that, would mean extending the wire on the data projector socket to that though, easy enough.
