We've been fitting a 95 Ecotec 1.6 16v GSi engine into my 96 1.2 8v corsa, it doesnt have power steering, but the new engine does, but we are bypassing that, and not using it.
Problem is the engine mount that is on the drivers side doesnt fit, any ideas what to do with this / if (and where) i could get a mount that would work with this?
Also with the exhaust being different, what needs replaced, the whole lot to the backbox, or just the bit from the engine to the centre section with the cat on it?
Finally, are the accelerator and clutch cables the same?
Cheers to anyone that can help!!

Use the engine mount from your 1.2
Need manifold, downpipe, and cat from the 1.6. The rest is the same as your 1.2
Clutch is the same accelerator depend on the type of 1.6 I think

the drivers mount off the 1.2 doesnt fit either, think it may be because the origional engine is none powersteering, and the 1600 is?!
i have the monifold, and downpipe, so will have to get the new cat, cheers

cheers, think we've got these issues all sorted now
other thing is about the PAS, we were thinking about joining the pipes together so the fluid can still go round and make the pump work without taking it off the engine, so we won't have to change the belt.
But else where I was told its best to get a narrow belt crank pully off of a 1.6 8v or similar and changing the alterator pully for the same, then use a single narrow belt...
Any ideas what belt would work with this? Thanks

Just take the pump off and run the belt with no tentioner. and use the mounting system from your old alternator.
Measure up with a bit of string and get a few belts around the size
