Was giving my mate a lift somewhere, turned left at the roundabout and the car really bogged down. Wouldnt go any quicker than 35mph, flicked hazards on, pulled onto the side of the road and had to think of what to do. Rang another mate, he drove down with fuel, filled her up and the battery decided to die - i only had the headlamps on for ten minutes! So i stopped him before he drove off and he pulled out some jump leads, Legend.

The fuel gauge was lit up on red but though i could make it, was only sposed to be a short trip. Thats my fun for the night

Least you don't have a diesel, it's not simply a case of refil and drive off if you run out.

The day I sold my Corsa, i was driving home from work and I kept thinking "It will be gone tonight, and I dont want to give this lad anything for free".

Well... I ran out of petrol at the end of my street, put 5 gallons in it and took it for a quick blast out.

Hopefully the lad got home

On newer diesels you don't have to bleed the system.

My battery was shot to begin with, it was as old as the car and put out 5-10 when it should be 20. its because i had stopped with the lights on that it died.

It wont start if you just pour more diesel into it because you have to beed the fuel lines of air...

New vauxhall diesels and therfore fiat ones 2.
And if it doesn't start you just spray a bit of carb cleaner in the intake to get it fired up.

yeh i think you have to undo four bolts on top of the engine, then crank it over with diesel in the tank.

i find the corsa fuel guages shite, i was always runnig out in my corsa as it showed halfway up the red sumtimes and it would run out, whereas other times it would go well below the red and still keep going.

not as bad as my missus corsa merit her fuel guage used to shoot up to full when she went round a corner

they mustve changed the guage systems at some point as mine never used to do that

I was just glad it was fuel and no a knackered engine. As soon as it bogged down i looked at the temp gauge thinking head gasket.
