Ive done the usual up the fuel/boost, decat etc but i heard there was a guy on here got 180BHP out of one. My question is what exactly was involved??

I was informed the guy that had the motor went by the username 'akeemking'. Ive also been told that there are a few in portugal who have got 240BHP from them so it seems quite possible. I would just like to know what these animals have had done to them...

I heard about 200bhp from 1500td, if I remember well it has got larger injectors and fuel is injected at really high pressure. In fact if I am not wrong, because of this tuning, that corsa breaks 2-3 gearboxes a year. I too want to tune a 1.7td but I prefer more lifetime.

Phil666: After fuel/boost, bigger turbo with a large intercooler, cone filter slammed directly to the turbo, straight through exhaust. Bigger injectors if you like more, gas flowed head, then NOS. For large power figures I think it is much better to invest in an LET. After all, the diesel probably won't be anymore efficient at those power figures.

Cossie: I am too from malta Do you know anymore mods to a td?

Thanks for the response guys. Regarding the gas-flowed cyl head - will this actually make difference? After all, i cannot find anyone who makes a different profile camshaft. Surely without a better cam, the gas-flow wont be much use?????

Check this golf. 224bhp highly modified. But it is a 1.9, larger displacement works. Hybrid fuel pump etc etc.

With bigger turbo & intercooler, fuel pump, cone filter you surely will jump the 100bhp barrier with a 1.7.

P.S. Phil did you do the bleed valve trick?

Yeah i know that trick. Really looking for about 150BHP if its possible. But i want it to be drive-able. I dont want a 'peaky' engine...
