How? Do you not need to be on the outside with the key to lock it

Friendly policeman will be able to do it. They have a tool to unlock car doors. My Dad quite often does it for people that have locked their keys in their car

Is the door fully shut, or just clicked closed (ie. partially open)?

If it's partially open, then get something in the top-corner of the door (opposite the hinges) and ***VERY*** gently prise the door open, then get something through the gap and either pull the button up or pull the handle to open the door (depending on how you open it from the inside).

That's what Green Flag did with mine (little inflatable ball inside the top-corner of the door) when I locked mine in the car, except mine was auto-lock on the alarm and the engine was running at the time!

If, however, the door is closed properly, then try the wire coat-hanger trick......didn't work with mine, couldn't get anything snagged to open it.

WHAT A STROKE OF LUCK!

Some women popped her head through the door and says:

Lady - "Has someone got a car problem?"
Me - "yea, y?"

she basically went on and said shes a member of the aa and its not the car thats covered, its the person, so shes gettin someone to come out for me!
what a lovely person
what a start to the weekend!
