i have no splash guards in my car just now and my engine is filthy, should get new ones fitted this week, then i can give it a clean. what is the best way to tidy up wires etc around battery and header tank as it looks very messy.

show us pics of yours to give me some inspiration and ideas

yes mine looks similar to that just now
have moved the wire goin over the top of cam cover down to chasis leg tho

around the battery negative terminal i have like a million wires well probably 8 or 9

you can get special engine cleanin stuff cant you that you just put no then was off i have got this greeen stuff i got from work its a stuff that cleans oils etc up its great for my engine bay brings it up a treat just spray it on then wash it of dont even have to use a cloth onit

i have some gunk wich is good for the block etc, got some rubber care atuff i may use on hoses or may get new ones depending oncondition

it is mainly passenger side that is a mess!!

might buy some new jubilee clips and clips for rad hose etc has that head been painted?

Take all the bits of youwant cleaning and find somebody with a shotblaster. Well for the metal bits anyway. All the other stuff should be easy to clean!

not a corsa but I cleaned mine recently with gunk and some autoglym stuff ... removed some bits to reach uber-dirty areas

i havnt got a good pic of my engine bay but me and the old man just got as much cleaned up as possible, cable tie or wrap all wires in bunches with black insulation tape etc, get back to black, autoglym vinyl rubber care etc on all the pipes etc, paint the engine cover, and clean up the dipstick etc, my old man played a blinder with these use some swarfeger(sp) and a toothbrush!

other that that which is cheap etc, you can get chrome bolts latches etc!

nice chumbly just bought another inlet for g/f corsa and want it chroming how much did yours cost to chrome mate?

A engine bay takes me about 10mins to look like this
remove items that dont like water then spray some traffic film remover everywhere
then attack with a steam cleaner and spray some auto glym rubber cleaner on it
job done!

i seem to have lots of hoses and wires between the header tank and inlet i need to try and move/hide/tidy up andl ots of cables from battery. Has anyone moved the cables at battery hidden them tidyed them up, pics

Friends golf:



sheathed cables inside silicone hoses etc, cleaned all round, won some concourse trophies with it in the past too.

Jason quite hard best getting it done professionally mine isnt polished much i just got off the main dirt etc..
