Just phoned through my upgrade, asked them to change the date of my direct debit "sorry sir we simply cant do that"
And why is that?
"its not something we do im afraid"
Ok, but why
"we cant pshyically the date in our computer"
again, why?
"i dont think your understanding me sir, we cant change that"
Well can i speak to sum1 who can
"nobody can, we dont it"
So your perpared to lose my money and custom over this, your about as much help as the travel agent on little britain
So basically they cant change the direct debit date my money comes out, they decide when the money cums out this way: 20 days after purchasing. So in order for me to get a direct debit on say the 5th for example i have to cancel my contract (30 days notice) and then make sure i order my new phone on the Monday teh 13th March
Joke!

Would it be possible to setup another bank account which Orange take the money out of on the usual date. Then you set up a standing order to be transferred from the account your wages are paid into that goes out on a date thats closer to your pay day? Then the money for your phone bill goes out your wages account when you have the money?
I know you shouldn't have to do that but its a way around it if your desperate

Yeah you shouldn't have to fanny around sorting that but if you really want to do it and Orange wont budge on the date they take the money its the only way aside from starting a new contract Its not on though cos they should be able to sort that for you. Defo right to make a complaint

You can pick the date the money comes out when you set up an orange contract (if it's done in a shop.) You might find that they will be prepared to change it after the first bill although I am not 100% on that so confirm it with their customer services dept.

I've never had any problem at all with Orange, they're a tiny bit expensive but thye have me down as a good customer so they'll usually match whatever else is out there.
You'll be best writing in. I got some money back when I lost minutes when swapping a tariff. Address is
Orange Customer Services
PO Box 10
Patchway
Bristol
BS32 4BQ
They might throw a bit of credit on there as a gesture of good will.

You get the recorded message 'Orange is commited to excellent customer care', which I always read back to them if I don't get what I want
There's only so much the standard people can do though. I only ever talk to retention department for deals as they have the best one, and write in for other stuff. The standard people are just computer says no.

Thats what I do. You tell them your gonna leave so you get transferred to that department and then I tell them what I want or I'm gonna cancel my contract with them. I always want the new customer only deals and they give them to me to get me to stay
