dont know what i have done to the damn thing but the backspace button on my laptop doesnt delete the text highlighted

for example, if i were to type something in word and then want to delete the entire sentence, i would highlight the sentence and press the backspace button. as most people would

but when i do this, it doesnt delete it. it just goes to the start of the higlighted area

anyone any ideas?

You've fooked it, rebuild your Laptop and it will be fine

You probably want Method 3, which is to turn on the "Typing replaces selection" feature. You'll find it in "Tools" and "Options" in the "Edit" tab. It should be the very first check box.
