For the past week or so i've noticed a noise when leaving from a standing start in 1st.
Sounds to me like the sound of an old fiesta (tapping sort of sound) once i'm out of 1st i can't hear it any more, but that maybe due to the engine noise drowning it out.
Whats more strange is that when i rev the car in neutral (sp) it doesn't make this noise. And when i got out of my car tonight after a night of driving about 20 miles or so..there was a burning smell
Does this sound like brakes to anyone...or a fan belt etc?
Its a civic 1.4 btw, i know its now a corsa but there are a lot of clever people in this area on here
Essay over

Brakes could be binding etc.... but you would hear that when slowing down too.
Where is the noise coming from? Is it only in gear? Or when clutch is pressed in?

Noise is coming from the front of the car, but i can only hear it when i accelerate in first.
The noice only happens when the car is in motion, at first i thought it could have been a worn cam belt...but wouldnt that still make the noise if being rev'd in neutral?
