This may sound stupid and thick but i've never seen a corsa c with a c20xe in, seen one with a let in but i take it you can put a xe in a corsa c if a let goes in? If it can how easy is this to do?

you LIE!

its a pain in the arse as the wiring in the corsa c is very complicated, i think its really wierd like 1 wire can send 4 different signals and the ecu is wired into all the dash, lights, abs, everything.

Its the wiring being a CAN-BUS system that sends multiple signals down 1 wire along with the ECU being a hassle as Adam said.

IIRC you need 2 ECU's - 1 for the dash, abs, etc and t'other for engine.

I'm sure there was a C about with a C20XE which had a dash from a B?

Surely a modern 1.8 C SRI wouldnt be far off an old 2.0 engine in terms of power etc?

20xe has quite a lot more torque.
1.8 feels torqueless and is poopoo. Adequate for most though.

Its not a pain in the arse to do.
People just havent looked into the conversion, and take other peoples veiws and make up there own mind.

You need 2 ECU's as the Corsa C ECU controls most of the cars functions so you can not get rid of this, so you need the engine ECU to control the engine Corsa C one to Control the Car (car being lights aircon windows etc etc)

the only Pain in the arse thing is getting the Dash to work, other than that its no differant to a Corsa B

Nothing more than a Corsa B really :-
- Standard 2lt 16v Shafts
- Get Astra Hubs Machined down to take Corsa C Barins
- Make engine mounts where needed

then its down to getting the dash to work, BUT even at the worst Stack dash for £700

If you look at the Corsa C C20LET (not the one Dave had) you will notice the Dash dosent work

you make it sound like changing a wheel so me or wayne or 90% of people on here who have never changed an engine without outside help would be able to do it in a weekend? righto.
