Hiya
I'm looking into the possibility of buying one of these to replace my current "beast" I have looked @ a couple of them so far, both 2003 reg. Nothing in particular has been wrong with them as far as Im aware. I was just wondering if anybody knows of any problems in particular with them that you need to look out for?
Any help is appreciated

Check the front seats lock into place properly as this can be an issue.

Cool Any great improvement between the pre and post facelift models? I prefer the look of the pre facelift imo! I am looking around a bit on corsa-c.co.uk aswell

One of the ones I tried also had a bit of a stiff seat release mechanism (in a 3 dr so u can flip the front seats down) it didnt seem to release the seat till u pulled quite hard, then it felt if u pulled much harder it would snap?!

Well its being brought by parents for me using inheritance money that is mine. The ones I've been lookin at are 2003 (pre facelift) at about £5.5k Have now seen a couple of special offers for brand new SXi's for about £7.5k though!

On the facelift 1.4 sri's you get colour coded skirts, 16" alloys and different style mirrors as well. These look really nice if you have the pennies look for one of these. Mine is pre facelift though

Standard with about 16k on the clock and in almost mint condition.
Will be sticking to 1.2 for insurance purposes - I'm only 18 so the 1.2 is the only thing I can really afford to insure. And with it being an SXi, mods will be slow and subtle as imo they are nice cars as standard!

In "deano's" I see he's got the dash adapter for the stereo in silver? I wanted bin the huge standard thing if I get one, but wasnt sure, as I could only find black adaptors? Has he sprayed that himself, or was I simply not looking in the right place?! Also, is there an adaptor available so that you can keep the sterring wheel controls functional (and the MFD)? Sorry for all the questions!

Does it?! I thought it was quite good deal - Oh, thats from a garage btw - Parents refuse me access to my inheritance money unless its from a garage so that they can get a warranty etc

Yeh gonna shop around bit more yet. WTF with the magic tree?! I wondered if it would need spraying, may not bother if the adapters are that expensive - may just uprate speakers etc and leave the standard stereo in. Will also be looking into a white LED conversion behind dials etc - seen pics on corsa-c.co.uk - they look awesome!

steering controls are just lazy but the surround is worth doing like, might get a silver one from vaux like cost u double knowing them, ive changed the clocks and display for blue l.e.d's in mine like looks the trick like.

Thats the vaux headunit adaptor. I haven't bothered to wire up the steering controls to mine because it is an mp3 headunit and the wheel wouldn't allow you to change folder etc.

Is that an optional extra available from Vaux then Chris? They supply the correct wires for the steering wheel controls etc? Mine would be mp3 headunit too but it would be shame to lose all controls on the wheel like volume etc.
