Pics of gf?
Now that's when it should have been asked before switching on.
Some people have said to rinse the phone in distilled water then possibly open up and leave to try off. Othes have simply left it days to dry off.
The damage is usually done when it's turned back on if it's completely soaked. Best to leave it a good 5 days or so in an airing cuboard before switching back on.
A new battery is sometimes also the way to go anyway.

They can sometimes come back to life after they're dried out. Just strip it down, as much case off as you can, battery off etc. and leave it in a fairly warm place, not too hot but warm enough to dry it.

You need to dry it before you power it back up.

i did this once. i was at my girlfriends house, got up in the morning and kicked a pint of water over it. started going all funny, and thot it was charging and shoot. i just did what ian said and take off as much casing as i could, and the radiator was warm so left it on that for a couple of hours. went back to it, stuck it all back together and it was fine

If the components react to the water inside then it's usually beyone repair. Needs new circuit boards etc
Plus you get what looks like mould growing on the charging contacts
I'd bang it in the airing cupboard & hope for the best!

S(o)uper.
I put mine in the washing machine once. Came out smelling alpine fresh, but needless to say, didn't quite work ever again

should work just stick it in an airing cupboard for a coulple of days.
funny but a lot of electrics work again after being drowned in water.
i once knocked a pint of water over my laptop, stuck it under a heater on a shelf for a day and it worked fine.
