i know there is some stories about them being written off with the slightest prang.

but the 25's are stupidly cheep, and would be a good run around.

so will they be as bad as they are made out to be?

Not really, head gaskets are pretty common but other than that they are quite reliable. Interior is a bit cack and falls apart easily though.

My dad would beg to differ he had a really bad smash in his old 600 bout 8 years ago and it looked fucked but it wasnt a write off.

Parts may be more difficult to get hold of these days, hence the cars being more likely written off.

Due to modern car design (i.e. a crumple zone) most cars are written off after small crashes because a replacement car is a cheaper option.
