This is the latest site i've been working on for someone.
Sells horse rugs etc....
Its not fully working but I wondered what people thought of the general design - I stole the general idea off a template but then I completely rewrote it.
http://www.jttweb.co.uk/
This is the site they have at the moment....

It looks much better laid out etc. however I would suggest maybe a more diverse use of colour on the site would benefit?

yeh I thought that at first - but as most the pages will have fairly colourful pictures of products etc, I thought it would be ok

Because although I tried to adhere to XHTML as much as possible, I really cant be bothered to use divs etc as im more familar with tables

in the td/tr tag (off the first table), instead of the style to center it all, just wack align="center" and it'll center the whole the table in firefox - ive noticed that firefox doesn't always like using style stuff.
but yea looks alright i suppose, shit load better than the last one, and its clean and tidy

Exactly what I was thinking. Just put a center at the top of the page. As it is, on large resolutions it all appears on the left, with big space on the right. get it centered and will look a lot better

Easy money, bet it wasn't much effort to knock that up.
How come whenever I get offered web design work it's always fucking large database based catalogue style things that'll require shit loads of work. yet only worth 'a couple of hundred' quid

I know the feeling, I tell them how much I'm going to charge, if its going to take ages then charge them lots, its the only way!
Last thing you want is to invest loads of time into something that your going to get f'all back from!
I really only do it at work now, much less stressful being paid a decent salary, having it as part of your job and taking your time over it than freelancing. I'm redesigning http://www.wyeth.co.uk at the mo
