but seriously....

i also had an idea a while back about when people post pics... and other people quote the pic, it takes half the bloody page up with the same pic.

if someone does quote a pic cant it be made into a smaller version??

Alternatively, people could not quote pictures or each other.

I've asked for this many times. Its technically quite difficult to have a computer decide what is a good quote and what is a bad one, I would rather people are not so lazy and do it themselves.

I try to keep mine trimmed....sometimes slips my mind though

Can it not be written into the code so that only the previous persons quote is quoted....or is that not possible

Yes, and if you want to quote more than that you can't.

I'll attempt to program it, but this will almost certainly be more restrictive than the current arrangement, which is a shame just because people can't make the correct choice between quote and reply.

i find that sometimes you have to quote if you are replying to somthing futher up the thread. But i do always try to only quote one person.

What i've seen on web forums, is that when quoting it only quotes the post you click quote on but not any quotes from within that post, also I have seen images changed from images to links, that way if you really wanted to show an image in your quote you could change the [url] tags back to [img] for the correct photo, but by default it would create a link.

personally when I quote I try to remove images unless they are specific to my reply.

restrictions on image sizes would be good, like set a default value and any image that is linked too if it was bigger would just resize the display down to 600x450 for example? you could always links to larger pics

Snip the pic or a large body of the text.

People should just quote the last comment, but I must admit I don't all the time
