Just felt the need to post this after doing my conversion

If any of you are planning to do an engine conversion of your corsa, consider before you buy. I read a lot of shit on here from people who instantly dis an engine if its not a red top.

BUT my mate has recently done a c16xe conversion, and my car has had a 20seh (cav sri 2.0 8v) engine fitted, and both are very impressive performance wise.

Another thing to consider is that the 2.0 8v engines can be picked up for VERY little amounts of money these days, they are cheap for parts, and pretty much bombproof engines. For example i picked mine up for 200 quid, that had a superchipped ecu, kent fast road cam, all ancillaries, and also suitable driveshafts, and mounts. (You can actually get these engines for 50 quid if your lucky, then sort out the mounts etc yourself).

I only post this to give people who havent thought about it another option, the red top engine is great and obviosuly theres 150bhp on tap, but again for the price u pay, 130bhp from an seh engine is decent, and i certainly wasnt disappointed with the performance.

oh and if anyone is planning on doing this conversion and has any questions feel free to pm me

cheers

I got my xe for -75 quid, broke a cally for it. IMO if I wanted a 130hp corsa I wouldnt consider going big block as its simply not worth the time/effort.

The 16xe is a lovely engine, but prices are still silly.

thats fair enough but i dont think the 2.0 8v conversion could have been more straight forward, and as you know there arent many xe's going for 75 quid
