Posting for a mate who is going to be doing a conversion from a Cavi Sri into a Corsa.
Apart from the obvious bits need is a 1 Litre shell generally a good base for the conversion or is it better to get a good Sri/Sport etc..??

the wiring is more complicated on the 1.0 / 1.2 16v
may be easier to get a decent sport, benefit from the sports interior etc then as well, which could be sold on if not wanted etc

Yeah if you start with a better model you can sell more. You also get electic bits, tinted glass etc. You'll find slower stuff easier though.

They're more of a sleeper though, which is more important to some.
Personally I'd get a 1.4 SRi/Sport for looks and better equiptment.

Will be pretty much the same as any other conversion. You'll need the new o/s chassis leg mount though to fit the engine.
Rev counter wont work.
Wiring needs a little more fiddling, but no biggie, you just need to find and extend a few of the dash lights as the ECU on the 1.0 is in the engine bay.
Can't see it being a problem. Also, some 1.0's have better interiors than Sports as they are plain black and not spotty. You also might get tinted windows, colour coded bumpers, alloys e.t.c... The ones I looked at were better specced than a lot of other Corsa's.
