**SPEC BELOW PICS**

Well, I got rid of the GSi beasty

Settle'd for a subtle, low 1.4 Turbo *only one in UK apprently*

was talking to a lad that knew about the car, aparently it doesnt have most of the mods listed, i.e proper pistons etc...

also didnt used to have real management or any boost control. what ecu is it running?

what power is it meant to be putting out?

As for hot air on the intercooler, ive done a test and alot of air gets blown onto it, its the R5 intercooler.... looking at a front mounted one.

theres no way a standard ecu can cotrol that set-up, even with a re-map. it needs aftermarket management to contol the boost and fuelling.

custom cossie chip think the seller made that bit up whats a cosworth chip got to do with a 1.4 corsa? also, the intercooler needs to be moved somewhere to get fresh cool air. the charged air from a turbo gets very hot. this will kill performance and the engine eventually. positioned there it will not be doing it any good at all, especially if the fuelling is out. I would guess it is running very lean on boost, ask anyone that knows their stuff on turbos and they will tell you that running lean and hot intake temps is a recipe for disaster.

not trying to slate your car, i think its got a lot of potential, but needs loads of money put in to make it right. this is why so few people do turbo conversions and the ones that do, give up half way through. If I were you i would get it on a rolling road asap and check the fuelling through the revs.

deffo recomend getting the fueling checked as 808 said above fueling is critical on any turbo, ive just dished out best part of 300 quid for a wideband lambda for mine for this exact reason.

to tell the truth mate i have seen this car before and thought it was a bag of poo, i dont get how it all works with the turbo,he tried explaining to me and i was like, erm ok. why would you want to turbo a 1.4 8v anyway!! i think its gunna cost you alot of money to get it sorted and running correctly, definatly needs a front mounted intercooler, and check the fueling. if you dont mind us all askin how much did you pay for it?? hope you enjoy the turbo kicking your ass well when its all running rite

Id still get fueling checked mate, even if the car does drive fine it could be running really lean espesh with the car being single point injection i know someone who took his car on the rollers, was fine low down revs, but had to abandoned the run as it was getting very lean further up the range.
