after yesterdays crappy news that No2 cly on the corsa was down on compression, it just got worse! Its the bottem end at fault!
Head off time to investigate Hopefully its not damaged bores as i cannot be arsed getting a 3rd block bored out
Best case it a bango'd piston ring that hasnt caused any serious damage :/
Still running a 13.90 at 101mph with a fuckeroonied bottom end not as bad as i thought. PS... that also be why its only putting out 185 limp horses
So.... what next....??
Torch it? Sell it? Fix it? Upgrade it? (this engine has done 2 trackdays and a 1/4mile Kinda suggests something wasnt seated or bedded in right from the engine build at AGRA)
So i stepped up a gear getting the 205 ready as..... well... the corsa is fucked.. AGAIN
pics of 205...
started fitting harnesses! Any suggestions on rear strap placement?
stripped the rear corner a bit to try and see how bad the rust is. Not too bad.
stripped some shite wiring car still works

Compression Test
Cylinder no 1 – 240lbs
Cylinder no 2 – 210lbs
Cylinder no 3 – 240lbs
Cylinder no 4 – 240lbs
Compression on no 2 is down by 13%
Cylinder leakage test to check on cause of low compression.
Cylinder no 1 – 22%
Cylinder no 2 – 72%
Cylinder no 3 – 24%
Cylinder no 4 – 24%
Cylinder leakage appears to be passing the piston or rings as no leaks are apparent in the exhaust or inlet manifolds
Fuel pressure 2.6 bar
Fuel delivery 1Litre in 30 seconds
Cylinder head gasket leak test, no faults shown up

you could have one of these rear strutbraces and put the harnesses onto that.

You would loose so much money if you sell the corsa and would probably have to break it
Just fix it

cant see the point in selling it, splitting etc... It cost so much to get this far.
It shouldnt cost that much (i've heard that before) if its just a piston out job
(i would do it myself if it was a standard piston etc )
M2RTY - thats all fair and well but things do break! I'm not going to start pointing and blaming when the exact damage/problem isnt really known yet. Wallace never built the bottom end anyway.

regarding the harnesses, weld some harness points into the floor... dont strap them to a strut brace, silly idea.
