alrite guys
my discs are a little worse for wear,will need replacing soon i think so thought why not upgrade?
not after anything fancy,thinking just grooved discs and a nice set of pads?
any reccomendations on grooved discs and some nice pads?,dont want drilled as i heard they crack?

Well i wasn't happy with my EBC disks when i had them, soon warped, a few other people have had the same problem on here.
The pads were a bit sticky when cold but i could live with that, kept the wheels alot cleaner as well as i had the greenstuff ones on.
Do a search mate, see what people suggest.

i like ebc pads but i had the same problem with the disks

I'd steer clear of EBC. I'd personally recommend Tarox or Brembo.
Why dont you just get some 2.0L 16V Astra ATE calipers from a scrap yard or eBay etc. Fit some motorfactors discs and pads. You'll get better performance than drilled/groved pads and probably cheaper.

was thinking 2L brakes wouldnt be much bigger then the sport ones?
but i did want to buy some big ass brakes n get the calipers powdercoated white or something

GTE ATE calipers are much stronger pistons than the standard 1.6 Sport ones, discs are also 4mm wider so they stay cooler. Use standard GM discs and pads, pretty good stuff

As said upgrade to the 2L set up (simialr to the GSi brakes)
Use ferrodo premier pads (as e-marked) and GM discs, make sure you bed in the pads correctly or they'll be w*nk

I'm usin Mk3 cav 2l sri brakes(gen gm) work real well, takin the tin shields off the back has made big difference to them staying cold, cheap as fook!
