ive been told to do the breather mod on my xe before it goes in.

one small problem what the hell is it

any other little bits i can do to occupy my mind

It's a small filter (imagine a mini induction kit) Which vent's petrol fume's to the atmosphere instead of back in to the engine. So in theory the car is sucking in cleaner air. The downside is that your engine bay will stink! The fume's can also come in to the cabin through the vent's, depending on where you mount it. It's also not very good for the environment!

Its none of the above... it stops oil been drawn back in through the inlet from the rocker cover, instead it just drops back onto the cams

basically you drill holes in the plate under the rocker cover

Its supposed to stop low speed jerkiness etc... stop the tb butterfly getting gummed up too i'd imagine

yup... without it, unmetered dirty oily air/vapour gets taken into the TB...

i found it helped mine.....

not sure if the plate is drilled in this engine, but i did it on the green rocker cover

Mines been drilled out, though I have never taken mine any higher than second gear... It's MattB's rocler cover off of his LET though, which used to belong to the guy who runs that website... In fact, I think that might be my rocker cover
