RWD mid-engined LET....is that different enough
Nah people dont fit the 1.8's because : there not much more power over a slightly tunned 1.6 16v & weigh more + a hassle to fit.
Either fit an XE or tune a 1.6 imo

Yes its basically an unrestricted inlet.
No one fits 1.8's because the conversion because the 2L costs similar & is better so either do that or tune a 1.6

Hes going to fabricate his own mounts etc? and anything else that will need doing for this "not done for a reason" conversion.

I'd follow JadeM's advice fella.

lol didnt know that, didnt think anyone would bother. bet they dont make any money on them after allowing for the R&D time.
really pointless IMO.
but if he wants to do it to be different, fair enough its is parogative.

you need a X18XE1 - they are small block engines
The x18xe is big block as is the c18xe

It must have been done before, although the only reason I can think for it will be because you can get a low mileage one easier than a redtop, but saying that, it shouldn't be a problem anyway if you're guna rebuild it
So yea, get the redtop

Well the choice is yours
Redtops have more BHP from standard so is the obvious choice IMO!
