You get the key from the link you posted?
Its not illegal to download.
Its a legit public beta.
Public version of vista isn't up yet.
Was released to msdn I think yesterday.

had a little play with Vista today at college, it looks pretty smart, but it was running slow-ish on a dual core laptop. the start menu is see-thru

office is worth it imo, upgrading from any version.
as for Vista, microsoft really need to pull their fingers out and increase stabilty if they're going to get it shipped in time.

hmm.. i beg to differ.
well slightly. the specs of the average PC has obviously gotten loads better of the last couple of years, and this new OS has been designed and based on that in mind.
all the themes, glass effects etc wouldnt run too good on an older spec PC.

Aero will run on any graphics gard with pixel shaders 2.0.
It needs slightly higher specs than xp yes but 6 years down the line or whatever it is, unless you are trying to run it on a pc from then it needs relatively low specs compared to todays pcs.

no, its 32bit aswell, but alot of apps and games will most likely only be developed for 64bit in the future...

Thank fuck for that. 32 bit mode on my 64 bit processor is beginning to annoy me. The lack of drivers for XP 64 is annoying me too.

what makes you think vista 64 will have better driver suport?
The drivers will be esentially the same as xp.
