Someone hit my car end of last week, they've admitted liability. Its gone into a garage now and im stuck without a car, i passed my test this December just gone, but i havent sent away for the pink licence, i just have my pass certificate and provisional. Ive tried a few different companies but all the ones ive found you have to be over 21 and been driving over a year. (im 19) It wasnt my fault and im now left without a car...any suggestions?

Why is their insurance not paying for you to have a car?

Now would be a good time to send your licence off don't you think!

I didn't select legal aid, courtesy car etc on my insurance, but still got it when I crashed in 2004!!!

my insurance company covers me for a hire car, but i cant get one because i havent sent off for my full licence yet, (yes that part is my fault) they need to see the licence before i take the car, but as the accident was not my fault, why should i have to go without a car.

Why are you moaning then if you admit you haven't done what you should have done to avoid this problem in the first place?

Well as its a requirement to have the full licence before they release a car to you and you havn't sent it off theres not much you can do.

To be fair it's not hard to send your license off!

Why didn't you let the driving examiner do it anyway? That's what I did, only took 4 days to get back to me

That's not atall what he's saying.

He's saying that you've had since December to send it off yet you're moaning when really it's no ones fault apart from your own (apart from the accident which was the other person's )

erm, think again. u have 2 years to send it off ye. but if ur planning on driving on the road straight away u need to send it off first. the 2 yrs thing just means that if u pass ur test and leave it for over 2yrs without doing anything ul have to re-take everything again

No you don't

You pay for your provisional, you pay for the test. The proper license is free.

no it not free, if you recieved your provisional before 1st March 2004 you have to pay a £9 fee.

If what you claim is true, then would it have been free for you to send it off yourself (stamp obviously an exception)?
