in a straight line, the GSi/Sport is faster, but is no way near as composed in the corners. however Sport has nicer interior

I'd say in a straight line the corsa would just do the fiesta. In the corners though a ZS Fiesta would piss all over a corsa.

from my experience, the Corsa is a fair bit quicker in all straight line speed

I raced a zetec S the other night, straight line pissed all over it, round corners he was all over the place, understeering etc the lot ... so i dont rate them highly at all.

Yeah, i also had a passenger and he didnt but i was pissing my self seeing him go all over the place trying to catch up on the corner and just sliding out, good job its a huge roundabout
However i do really like the look of the zetec S's and they seem to be nice nippy car's to drive but in answer to the question, you should take off from him on the straight and he shouldnt have much on the corner's.

Back to the original question i would say:- Get a corsa 1600 if you want the straight line speed, its easier to get more power out of.
Get a ZS for Straight out of the box go-kart handling, but not blisterin accelleration like the corsa Gsi's or saxo VTS has. I'm glad i got my ZS over the other cars i was lookin at!!!

Engine wise people tend to go for the 1.7 puma engine but i think this is a waste of money as you could LET a corsa for the same price! Seen a few turbo conversions but again the price is outrageous! Give it a few years though and people will be putting Focus st170 engines in when they become cheaper!!!

Group 8/9 to insure so cheaper than a GSI Corsa or Saxo VTS. Come to think of it i've never seen one RR lower than 110 either, but i take that with a pinch of salt!!
