he was easily best player in paraguay game, won every ball and did something with it.
and who would you use instead? Jermaine "i scored once" defoe? or Darren "i wasnt given the right service in my debut" Bent.. i think id choose, 6 int goals in int games thanks

yep...my point is: a player who scores can't be wrong until he stops...Lampard missed some clear chances too (made up by Crouch)...
So many pros are saying that Endland's best attack partnership would be Crouch and Rooney...who are we? And what are we doing here when England are playing? we should have been on the pitch shouting directives

he is that poor everyone picks up on when he does ok because we arn't used to it. Compare him with similiar type players from other countries shows how bad he is, granted if he could head a ball he might be a bit more usefull but he can't. He's poor as a target man, fouls always go against him etc.

Only thing I have against Crouch is that he's becoming a little over confident, and maybe a little cocky. There's been times when he's made something much harder than it could have been by trying to make it look flashy. Examples are the chipped penalty, an atempted bicycle kick yesterday, and the volley from beckhams cross that saw him in miles of space, also in yesterday's game. Should just get the job done.

Im guessing you were the people who jumped on the band wagon the first time round for hating the guy (without watching him alot) and have forgotten to get off now he has been performing well and scoring. Either that or your too affraid to admit you judged him too soon so your going to carry on fighting your corner.
IMO...and this is from watching him play week in week out for Liverpool...YES he isnt your out and out forward who will bang in loads of goals. YES he isnt the player who will pick the ball up in his own half and change a game in an instant.
But he is a target man who will win 95% of balls played to him, and if the right man if up with him he will play the ball on (hence why Gerrard scored so many last season). And he is also the kind of play you need in the team whn your having trouble breaking a side down, as he can do as he did last night and get on the end of a cross.
If all our forwards were on fire I wouldnt start him, as Owen and Rooney would score more than him. But whilst he is scoring and whilst he is linking up well with the midfield I dont see how you can get on his back and have a go.
