Got my new camera a few weeks ago and have been playing around with it recently. Went to local marathon today to get a load of pics.

I was using the SP mode on the camera and had it set to 'Sport' mode (icon of a guy sprinting).

Now on this camera you half click down the shutter button to set the focus on the target then all the way down to take the pic.

If you look at the two pic below - despite me thinking i'd focus on the target - it appears that the backgrounds are in focus....kinda ruins two half good pics - although the dogs tongue looks good!

Any ideas what i'm doing wrong?

PS i know they're huge.....
