right folks..needin sum help.]
goin to look at a car tonight at 7pm as the guy is working till 6.30 but it is not taxed...
now what happens if i buy the car (which i probably will) ?
can i drive it anyway or is there anyway to tax the fuckeR?

i think you will be ok, i got stopped when i bought the 2ltr gsi, police did a check on it on the comp and didnt notice it want taxed lol thank fek! you should be ok as your just driving home from collection

you have to have an insurance cover note, so you'd have to wait a few days until you've changed your car over on insurance and for it to come through the post.
If its not taxed then has he declared it sorn? If so you can't drive it. If not you need to tax it before a fine is sent through...
or ofcourse you could get him to deliver it Takes the risk off you then...

I wouldn't even bother buying a car without tax
Surely the seller could spend £60 taxing it FFS.

im going tolook at a car tommorrow, not sure about tax but phoned elephant and they said juat phone up if you buy it and insurance will start from phone call

well i done it when i bought the astra coupe and the zr.
its not insurance i'm bothered aobut, i can sort that easy , its just the tax issue.

But either way someone has got to pay the tax. You or the seller.
It makes more sense to me for him to just charge me the £60 for the flamin tax then I don't have to drive around illegally.

I bought my MR2 from Harrogate and drove it all the way home to Liverpool with no tax on it....not even an expired one in the window...it was put on my drive over the weekend and then taxed first thing monday morning...

gave that a thought aswell but the disk is in my coupe which is gone now...
shame tho as when i took my private plate off they sent me a new disk with only the fee on it, engine type and car reg...no mention of car make
