that ENGLAND are in the Quarter Finals of the World Cup... we may have played poorly so far BUT people harped on about how brilliant the Spanish were and how good the Dutch looked at times... well I'm sorry but Spain & Holland are OUT!! Didn't even make the Quarter Finals!

Perhaps people will be somewhat less critical now

As i've been telling people at work for ages, performance means shit if we are producing the results.

doesnt really as if we had played like that against France or Portugal we would of been out. BUT your right, we are through still and gives us a chance to play well against a better team next time.

Back for the next match supposedly!

England may have played WAY beyond their potential so far but, unlike the better teams so far, we are still in it and you have to be in it to win it (to coin an old phrase!)

We must improve though!

I don't have much knowledge of either to be honest. From what I've seen of Hargreaves though I don't think he deserves the amount of stick hes being getting.

Hargreaves has been playing well

But Neville is a better right back and links up well with Becks.

Hargreaves is over rated IMHO TBH

And England haven't had any real challenging opposition yet

If England can get through with poor performances, what would happen if they turned it on and it all clicked, we all assume teams will win on past performances, it's all on the day in this stage of the tournament.

Aye

IMO Hargreaves will get the nod as Sven thinks he is a better defensive player than carrick, more experienced too you could say (CL winner with bayern?)

Neville and Becks link up better, as well as Hargreaves did IMO I think that at times Hargreaves got too far in front of becks and becks cannot defend properly, he is too slow!

hargreaves for me proved his palcd in the squad he was solid comapred to a suspect caragher whos good but worrys me at times.
i still think we will go on the way as weve hardly palyed half as good as we can. expected goals from rooney and lamapard.
think we will havea hard game agaisnt portugal on sat but i belive we can beat them. 2-0 lampard and rooney
