right a had probz wid da car with the head gasket it going and a valve popping apart, but head gasket replaced and valve fixed the car now starts, but the revs wen the engine is idle sits below 1000 rpm, the engine shakes about quite a bit, wen u rev da engine a bit it shakes at first then goes back to normal until the revs drop, and the exhaust makes sum kind of blowing popping noise? any ideas guys?

is it easy to fix myself, cause today av stripped da whole engine down and replaced the headgasket and valves, if its an easy job a would do it myself

lol a cant understand use, if you are takin the piss out of the way i talk its because i am scottish, lol. anyone know how much a garage will charge, and does the idle valve not working properly cause the engine to shake and exhaust to make popping noises?

do a search on 'idle control valve' probably just needs cleaning. its mounted in the throttle body on the side of the head, bit fiddly to get to but if you did the HG yourself then you should find it easy.

lol is it the small brass looking thing thats on the side of the head with the lead that plugs into it? do i just use a spanner to unscrew it and then clean it out? are you sure this is what is it? anything else it could be, so that a can try them all, lol

It is on the throttle body mate it is a small black motor about 40mm in length. you will need some torx bits t20 i think if it is the 8valve engine it should be easy to get to on the 16v it is a bitch coz there aint any space to work. if it is easy enough to get off try cleaning it first and the throttle body where it sits as this gets coked up some times. otherwise i paid 45quid from vauxhall. Good luck

love am not a chav, a moved down here from scotland last year.

well the car has gone to the garage, when i drove it there it seemed to run a bit better when goin faster but still a bit chuddery and shakey, will find out soon what is up with it.

lol nup didnt skim the head, i have taken it into the garage and he done a pressure test, and the third cylinder has no pressure at all, found that my valve is bent and isnt working properly, so i have bought a new head and goin to fit it tomorrow
