Try and do it yourself. Learn for future...

If you cock it up, you can always resort to a 'professional'.

Rub down the area where the scratch is using as fine a grit of wet and dry as you need to remove the rust - don't just get the angle grinder and hardcore sandpaper out on it.. Start with some finer stuff and use heavier stuff as required.

Mask off surrounding areas other than the area you want to work on.

Use some rust treatment spray stuff (not familiar with names).

Rub down with wet and dry to flatten off.

Spray with few coats of primer and keep flattening the area down using fine wet and dry.

When you're happy with the surface, start applying the coloured paint in even coats. Again keep flattening as and when required to remove imperfections.

When you're happy with the colour, use very very very fine wet and dry and flatten it down. Remove the masking and rub surrounding areas with the very very very fine wet and dry too to blend the new paint in.

Once you're happy with the finish, start polishing.
