Recap
August last year drunk driver hit us head on, me wife and son in car in wifes car
we settled for mine and kieran claim which is about 1K which we are waiting on chq anyday as both me and kieran were only cuts and bruises, i am scarred for life though..
Karen she had broken ribs, deflated lung and one punctuared lung and broken foot.
she was also pregnant at the time 9 weeks gone..
Letter today from lawyers that direct line have offered her 8K....turned it down in an instant..The offer was made on the assumption that she was fully healed which she is not, still gets alot of pain in her foot and also she might now have, can't remember name but it's tumours on the nerve endings she has to go for a MRI scan soon..Also due to the trauma she encurred she is going to a consultant Psychiatrist..all to do with her being pregnant at the time and the stress that caused and she still can't drive in the dark well without being scared etc..
8K is alot of money but not enough for what she has been through...
When she is mentally and emotionally scarred for life..
We will wait and see what happens
She is still seeing consultant and Psychiatrist..

It's not only money for spending on stuff i'm pretty sure it's partly the principle of it all mav? Seems like a low figure considering what she's been through.... you did the right thing imo and should aim for more than that

karen was driving and myself and kieran in back.....the force of him hitting us pushed us back up an embankment and into a sign post..
he got 8 months in jail and 5 year ban..
police were surprised we all got out alive for a wee seicento., he was in a vectra hit us about 50 mph and we were going about 35-40.

Kieran was 2 at the time of the accident....
It's his insurance company that pays (DIRECT LINE) not him, he paid with 8 months in jail and 5 year driving ban...
If i see him i could quite happily kill him though
