went to kwik fit and the garage across the road after work today. neither would touch me car as it's lowered.

fella on the desk at kwik fit was comical.

"alright mate, put lower suspension springs on a few weeks back and I need the tracking doing"

"whats the problem"

"errr, the car is lower and the tracking will be out"

"ok, what's the problem then......... back in a minute"

Then goes into the workshop and speaks to a young lad, moments later 2 of them are out checking every wheel on me car.

"sorry pal, your car is too low and our equipment will not fit under the arches"

garage across the road said straight up they can't do it rather than pissing about.

any know of a decent local garage that can do the tracking?

Kwik fit fitted my lowering springs so cant see what the problem is. they did the tracking after fitting them with no problems.

tracking shouldnt be done str8 after lowering!! it should be done after bout 100 miles so theyve had time to bed in!! the tracking is obviously not going to be out as soon as they put the springs on!!

do any of your wheels go under the arches? this could be why they cant do it coz some of the gauges have two prongs that sit on top of the wheel.

I didnt mean straight after. I just meant that they have done the tracking after it had been lowered.

That's where I always used to go, they also did the work on the SJA that we used to run, very trustworthy

Tracking will be out as soon as you lower it - the track rod ends will be higher up the arch relative to the rack. Same principle as bump steer except you're doing it for good with lowered springs rather than temporarily using a bump in the road.
