TheMailcoach FC
As some of you may know I play high level football on Saturday, but I like a kickabout on a sunday aswell so I've signed for a team who plays in local pub league and they today snapped me up after 3 weeks training with them, the manager is Mel Sterland's (ex leeds and sheff wed left back) brother Glynn Sterland, and he has a little website which you can take a look at if your needing some time to kill, especially the transfer section. http://themailcoach.moonfruit.com/

I know most of you won't be interested but I know when I'm reading match day I always like to read new threads and I'm dissapointed when everythings the same as I last logged on, so here is one from JS.

Well it gives you a good indication of how fit you are, training in cool weather doesn't give you that, because you either think you've performed average due to bad weather conditions, or you don't lose as much water.

What I mean by bad weather is wet surfaces, your studs stick in more, meaning more work to run, or if it's raining and your kit is sticking to you and water is running in your eyes, it affects your game so you don't try as hard because your concentrating on the negative situation. Things like that.

I would not class that as a particulary high level...its a decent amateur level yes...basically you get in counnty leagues teams full of the pick of players from Sunday league...

Has your team got a website?

To me a decent level would be semi pro...so your talking Unibond league level...a decent level is a level where you get paid to play....even if its only £50 a week I would class that as a decent level...

We only get £30 a match but that's managers choice, not because of the level, our region is full of ex semi pro's though, I do know what your all on about, but to be honest you can only comment on what you've experienced, and the league I play in is tough, and alot of them don't accept Sunday League players willy nilly.

I could have played pro football, and tennis

At 15 years old I dislocated a kneecap......shortly after the other one

Ive lost count how many times ive dislocated the fokkas now. I had to give up all forms of sport (apart from cycling) about 15 years ago

With a little pressure this is how far they go (dont click if faint hearted)

Any further and my kneecap goes to the back of my leg....together with all the ligaments and tendons that hold it in place.

Believe me thats as painful as it comes

I've always said dislocations hurt more than breaks, I broke my right leg in a game when I was 16 and I sat on the sidelines so I could see the rest of the game, then go to hospital after, at 18 I fell awkwardly after going up for a header and dislocated my ankle as I hit the floor and I just wanted gas and air forever.

Well, thats as bad as it gets when trying to play footie on the weekend.

I cant 'mentally' kick a football anymore for fearing of dislocating the fokkas....i run to a ball. go to kick it. and have flashbacks of the pain involved. I get halfway through the kick action then freeze up

Bugger

No cure either...
