Quick question, currently with o2 online, and just past 12 months, rang to upgrade, and they wanted to charge me 200 odd quid for handset i want, since it hardly cost anything for a new contact and the handset i have started to cancel my current one, have had email with my disconnection date which states its 28th august, and on that day or upto 14 days after ill get my final disconnection bill, after thats been paid i can cancel the direct debit. Now here's where it gets interesting, now i have my disconnection date im thinking of ordering the new phone, will this issue ANOTHER direct debit, or include it in the current one, what im getting at, will i be able to cancel the direct debit of the old contact without canceling the new one?

I cancelled my DD with O2 because I changed banks, their stupid web thing won't let me set up a new one, so now each month I have to pay with a card online!
Tried phoning them about it but gave up after 10 minutes in a queue...

should be ok James, go into your bank and ask them for a list of dd, you can choose which you want to cancel.
