have heard that it struggles on a current top end system, even equipped with a X1900XTX or 7900GTX

This is the spec of my PC:

BTW I know that probably won't run Flight Simulator X even with a new graphics card but I might just opt for FS2004

that will run FS2004 at full whack with all the add-ons in the world with no slowdown i run FS2004 on this

Asrock Shitboard
Athlon 2200XP oc @ 1901mhz
generic 1GB PC3200 RAM
Geforce 4 Ti4800

and it runs pretty smooth on 3/4 to max settings.

your system is fine i guess for FSX apart from the GFX card. nothing for £200 will help you more than what you have though. maybe think about doubling that budget

Cybermonkey, do you use a joystick for FS2004? Ive just ordered it but I think I threw my old joystick out.

If you think a joystick is the way forward, could you recommend one? On a bit of a budget mind

P.s. PC World have FS 10 on preorder for £19.99!!

I assume the experience of flying the plane is pretty much done, as the improvements include having more cars at rush hour and the right type of trees on the ground. Necessary.

yeah, the physics model for FS2004 was pretty much complete bar realistic crashes/incidents, which is something FSX will improve on. its just a more complete experience Ian.

James, i use the Logitech Wingman Strike Force 3D, with force feedback, little pricey but great joystick
