Hi,

I am thinking of buying a Corsa 1.5TD as a runaround. Am I right in thinking that the Isuzu 1.5 TD engine does not have an intercooler? Can one be mated on to this car easily? I was thinking along the lines of the Frontera TD intercooler.
This would be alongside other suitable mods ie oil cooler, decats, fuel pump mod, MBC & air filter etc.

Any help appreciated

Gunzi

yep I'd forgotten one of those!

Can the front mounted I/C from a Frontera be mounted on the corsa?

Cheers for the offer Lucky, at the moment I'm weighing up a few options on what would be best.
Its always a bit of a comprimise if you want good mpg, but still have some go!

I take it I'd have to get some hard pipes fabricated to fit the I/C?

Engines are pretty solid if you increase boost but intercooler surely helps. Put a bumper that allows air to the i/c.

Yeah I wouldn't be looking at much more than £1k for an mid 90's car and a few mods. I know I can go to a scrappy and rip an FMIC off a frontera for a few bob, and get a boost gauge & d/v cheap.
I owned a Nova GSi before and I fancied a hatch with 110bhp again but this time with ~50mpg

Rob_Lee didn't you used to post on RB or was it NL?

it lasted pretty well, and still sold the engine on ebay for £150

the turbos are pretty small on the diesel lumps, fitting a larger intercooler etc, is going to lead to a bit more lag IMHO.. i had the fronty intercooler etc but decided not to fit it..

and how u going to fit a dumpvalve with no throttle flap???
