Bascically get a box come up when turn the computer on and it says could be a victin of counterfeiting goods? And it also doesn't let me sign on MSN now because of it? I got a feeling my gay fucking brother has opened some stupid email like a thick twat and got a virus? I don't know what it is but computer was fine earlier it's also gone really slow!

Any help please appreciated!!

Thanks!

Also theres a little star in the icon box in the bottom right and it says "you may be a victin of software counterfeiting:

i click vaildation failure details and it gives me this:

Validation Not Completed: Invalid Product Key[0x80080202]
Why did it not validate?

There are several reasons why a product key may not be valid.

You chose to validate by the alternative (non-ActiveX) validation method which requires a download of an executable. The executable needs to run in native mode and it was run in a special compatibility mode for another operating system.

The product key stored on your computer has been tampered with. If Windows came pre-installed on your computer, please see the steps you can take below.

PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!

If somebody happens to have generated your ligit key for their non-legit install it will flag up as suspicious.
Microsoft are also quite good at assuming totally legal versions are counterfeit though.
Apparently you just phone up and they sort it for you.

Also a thread here with a link munch posted to a program that gets rid of the nag for you.

I enjoyed their wording 'you MAY be a victim of software counterfeiting...this copy of windows is not genuine'

Yeah, if it's genuine you can ring MS and they'll sort it; it happened to a mate. You can remove the little WGA notification program I think, you can certainly opt to NOT install it when Windows Update prompts you.

First Google search about removing it came up with this:

Hope it works.
