just mod your airbox, and use a performance panel filter, just the same, but a hell of a lot cheaper

Why do people think that modding an air box is a good move?

This sucks in crap!

55% of engine sales at my work are K-series engines, obviously quite a good engine wouldn't you say?

IMO yes.

Had three cars with K-series, and never a problem.

drilling an air box lets it suck all the crap in.

thats what the filter is for, to filter the crap

Viper is a lot of money, but its good quality

but i wouldnt bother with one unless i was tuning the engine a lot, the gains arent worth the money.

but the filter, stop's the shit getting in your engine, its whay they are there for

and when i say mod, i dont mean drill so it looks like swiss cheese, i mean just remove the restrictions from the inside, to make it flow better

Just buy a wider piece of piping for it and cut the original airbox intake wider, this will be the same as the enclosed induction kit, perhaps with a slightly smaller surface area.

sorry i thought you meant drill the crap out of the air box.

people think that making 4000 holes in the back of the air box is a good move. This isnt a good move. the filter doesnt get much of a chance to stop the crap. hence why so many corsa air flow meters are foooked.

http://forums.mg-rover.org/showthread.php?t=136052&highlight=enclosed+induction+kits

info on herer there seems to be Viper, Raid, ITG or BMC enclosed kits.

Also see here:

http://forums.mg-rover.org/showthread.php?t=110496&highlight=enclosed+induction+kits

and here £138 & £167.

http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/products/category_results.mhtml?category=bmccdainductionkits&car=mgzr&manufacturer=bmc&sub_category=1

TNM - Sounds like people have been drilling the wrong side of the airbox, completely bypassing the filter lmao!

EDIT - Personally I'd mod the airbox, buy a panel filter and spend the rest of the money elsewhere
