What do fans think of the take over by Randy Lerner? Is it a good thing or do you think he may want to use his NFL influences on the club?? Says his plans are to make the club successful like the old days again...

IMO - It's a good move!

It couldn't get much worse to be honest and im sure Ellis wouldn't of sold it to some idiot who wants to ruin his 25 yrs of work.

Ala Aston Villa Yankees Financially should be a good move, weather or not he wants to spend some money we'll see but it MO'N gets the backing then Villa should perform a bit better.

BBC has just reported M O N is poised to sign a very long term deal that he had previously agreed with lerner as long as Ellis relinquishes control of the club.

Lerner has also vowed to provide the money to make villa top 4 team!

With Martin O'Neill at the helm anything is possible, how he got Celtic to a Uefa Cup Final defies belief really, the tv money he was making at the time was and still is significantly less than what a championship club will earn

Villa will be a force soon if M'ON can work his magic. He's never really spent big at any of his former clubs and still achieved relative success. Should be an interesting season for Villa.

I was watching Sky Sports the other night and there were Villa fans on saying that they would be challenging for a top 4 spot this season

Maybe in 3-5 years time.

I'd love it if Villa upset some of the 'big boys' this season.

I'm very scetical about the way the premier league is going tbh, seems anyone with a bit of money can buy a premier leage outfit these days without having any football experience.
The past few years we have had Roman Abramvic, The Glaziers and now Randy Learner, there is already talks about West Ham being bought out by another big pimpin' johnny foreginer.

There are only two teams I can see that can't be bought = Arsenal and Liverpool.

incorrect MON in his celtic days recieved money right at the start of his tenure got the spine of the team formed then spent under a million on Stephen Pearson which was his only other significant buy, get your facts right Edwardo and stop wearing orange tinted glasses

He's meaning Hartson Lennon and Sutton, probably about 15 million worth, but that was pretty much it for the whole time he was there every other buy was around or less than 1 million and there wasn't many.

If your wanting to do it that way and include the sales outwards it would probably equate to less than 3 million a season
