Had a GSi up for sale but someone on here took it for a test drive while I was at work and went through a camera in a 30 zone at 39.

I just have a username for this guy. I guess he saw the flash and new he'd get the points if he bought the car.

Now do I have take them or can I prove I was at work and say it was a test drive buy some guy

fill out the NIP form as much as you can and send a covering letter explaining the situation. (keep a copy of both)

they will send it back to asking for full details of the driver. send them back the NIP again with another letter explaining the situation and copies of the first letter and NIP.

they will send a letter saying that the case has been passed to the CPS (criminal prosecution service) who will asses the evidence and if they cant prove it was you driving (likely to be the case with a gatso) then it will be dropped.

I had the exact same situation a while back and thats what happened. A mate was caught doing 57 in a 50 a few months back by a gatso, even though it was him driving he used the above method and got away with it!

BTW if you take the points you will be committing a more serious offence of perverting the course of justice, an imprisonable crime

as long as they had permission to drive the car, insurance is the drivers problem not the car owners!

You can be done for letting an uninsured driver drive the car, It would be up to you to check he has insurance. I doubt it will go to that but you never know
