About to fit a relay to switch on fogs in my corsa, I have 2 diagrams, one that came with the fogs and one i found on here, my question is which one is right? This is the corsa sport diagram (eaxactly the same wiring layout apart from the indicator and problem im having)

Notice it says wire terminal 86 on the relay to earth, my instructions with the kit however say wire 86 into 30 (12V +)

Which is correct?

its an easy job if you want to use the standard switch you need a latching relay rather than a standard relay

this from a post i put on another site........

All a relay does is act like a switch it use a low current to switch a higher current device in your case the fog lights are the high current device

so what i can make of how you have wired it you have live feed (hopefully its fused) from the battery that goes to the relay then on the other side of the relay goes to the lights and then the lights goto ground or negitive ????

so all you need todo is wire the coil side of the relay something like this -- 12v live feed (fused) to the switch then to the relay then then other side of the relay to ground or negtive

With it wired like this the when you turn the switch on the relay will click in and turn the lights on

To wire the vx switch in makes it a bit more complicated as you will need a latching relay to make it work as the vx switch is a momentary switch (only makes contact when you press it)

Its all ways a good idea to pick up the 12v+ supply (for the coil side of the relay) from an ignition supply (switched live) so when you turn the ignition off the fogs turn off

this is a 5 pin relay you are correct 86 goes to positive feed for this to work as 2 grounds wont switch relay, either that or switch side change to + instead of grounding.
