Has n e 1 designed a coo, air feed that sits behind the front grill, not a circular one but one that sits behind the whole of the grill. surely this would increase cool air rather than a small circular one

Wouldn't that be a bit pointless though cos the intake onto the engine isn't that big so it would still have to funnel down to that size anyway?

Yeah, but it's far better than any cone shitty induction kit.
The procomp saxo ones have had nothing but good things said about them. Pricey @ £280, but they are made of cardon fibre

I wouldn't say so, think of all the air that is catching stretching accross the whole of the front of the grill, forcing it into the inlet.
At the end of the day vipers are similar cost and i know i'd rather have the procomp, they sound fuckin ace too, heard vipers sound poo poo.

Like that pic yes, i think it would be much more effective that a cone.
I dont believe it should cost £280 thought.

It's made totally of "real" carbon fibre tho.

It's not made out of carbon firbre for fun. It's to do with keeping the air cool, where as a plastic unit would heat the air up.

Sort of like saying 'it doesn't need to be a real turbo, one of those turbonators off ebay will do'
Eckmcmann knows the score

I hear what your saying, but a cheap alternative could also be very effective.

was just a stupid example.
At the end of the day, in most cases, the more you pay, the better you get.
If you want to pay that bit less, then you need to settle for that bit less.
I really wanted one of those procomps, but couldn't justify paying the £280 like you say. They can be had 2nd hand on the bay for £100-150. Altho that's not much help for a corsa

the wider apeture to catch the air increases the inlet air speed and has a ram effect.
the carbon fibre is a bit of a gimmick though as even a platic inlet will do the same job.

plastic absorbs heat, cf reflects it
the ram effect has no bearing it wont make any difference, the real gains are just with the cooler air.

but when the car is on the move the air will be travelling so fast that wether its CF or plastic it wont make a difference. and the ram effect will make a diffence. same way as you use a wide as possible trumpet mouth on throttle bodies.
think about it, a 12" wide inlet that is funnelled down to 3" WILL catch more air and increase air speed tha an inlet which is 3" all the way. The engine will only use as much air as it needs but the higher the air pressure on the inlet the better for performance.

those saxo airboxes are WACK, the standard airbox with uprated filter get better results
