If the car does'nt have a transponder key, just ring a locksmith up they can make you a key there and then. They can still make the key even if it is a transponder one, but it won't run the car as it will need programming.

Not sure to be honest mate, when I lost my key for my old corsa he just came and made me a key. But thats possibly because my dad is a good customer and knows him. I should imagine they would like to see some proof though.

can't see the guy in the shop - if you had a document to say its ur car (V5?) then that'd be good enough surely....

my mum had to get a replacement numberplate so she gave them proof and they just gave you a numberplate - nothing stopping you from putting it on another car is there....

rite, you need a key code for a blue chip key that will unlock your car and start it

your key code is on your car pass (little credit card style bit of paper with your codes on, in your handbook)

if you dont have this, a car pass is £15 + vat from vaux, or whatever your local dealer charges, then whatever the cost of blue chip key + cutting.

then its £35 for programming in (ish, thats what our local vaux charged for it)

fob keys are a different story, fob keys cost about £75 + vat for a new one but its not a fob key so your okay

not 100%

iirc you shouldnt need the key programming to start it, so shouldnt need the key code, just a copy key..

ring vaux to make sure mate..only way to be 100%

i just came from vaux parts dept too

oh and i think only vaux have the blanks for them.. so you will probs end up at vaux anyway

Ring a mobile locksmith, they have some gizmo that they put down the lock and using some kind of magic they can make a key from it.

If he's locked his keys inside the car, how are you going to get a key cut?

Just put a brick through the window and buy a new window
